Abandoned
by Chris Page
Five miles out from Whitstable Harbour stands the abandoned "Red Sands Forts" at the head of the Thames Estuary. Now left to the Sea Gulls these metal giants were oringinally constructed in the second world war to protect London and other Thames settlements from the aerial and naval attack. Photograph from the sailing barge "Greta".
