Altnaharra - The Stream of Watching

It was here at Altnaharra I was watching and waiting to photograph the Vintners Velo Cyclist to round the bends on the single track road and over the stone bridge. I watched the water pass by below me, the movement of the clouds above, shadows coming and going, the stillness of trees and swallows darting about on the wing, and the constant changing light over the mountains in the distance. Maybe a clue to this captivating part of Scotland can be found in its ancient name, Alt-na-h-Aire, or Stream of Watching.
