Dungeness Nuclear Power Station built during the 70’s now dominates the landscape once only occupied by the Old Lighthouse. The first lighthouse on this spot dates from 1615 and there has been a secession of rebuilds over the ages. Now a modern automated lighthouse (located so not obscured by the power station buildings) is the new operational light at Dungeness.
