Ramsgate Harbour Light
by Chris Page
The ‘mini’ 1842 Lighthouse situated on the west arm of Ramsgate Harbour provides a marker point to the entrance and a beacon of light for those at sea. Carved in the stonework of the lighthouse are the words 'PERFUGIAM MISERIS', which are translated as 'refuge for those in need'.
Walking out on the east arm of the harbour wall I was trying to get in front of the sunlight that was coming and going in the clouds. I knew my shot, but just had to sit down and wait for the combination to arrive of the right light and a fishing boat coming home, all to happen at the same time.
