Then & Now Happy Feet

July 2016 and people have arrived from far & wide to Whitstable to enjoy the annual Oyster Festival. Here at the end of Harbour Pier humanity comes together in communion with dangling of feet.
May 2020 and back at the same place in Lockdown and all was deserted. I set myself up to photograph the empty end of the pier when three teenage girls arrive. They sat down together for a Socially Distanced chat, followed by one of the girls automatically dangled her foot over the edge. A reminder that Happy Feet live on in Covid.
